But as much as we enjoy the festivities, we know Halloween can bring some sneaky dangers for our furry friends. To help you and your pet have a safe Halloween, we\u2019ve put together some fun and essential Halloween pet safety tips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spooky Snacks to Skip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Halloween is all about the treats, but not all goodies are safe for your pets. Here\u2019s what to keep out of paw\u2019s reach:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chocolate<\/strong> \u2014 A Halloween favorite for humans, chocolate is a serious no-no for pets. Even a little can cause hyperactivity, vomiting, diarrhea, and a racing heart. Larger amounts can lead to heart arrhythmia, seizures, or worse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Raisins and Grapes <\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 These tiny snacks can pack a big punch\u2014causing kidney failure in pets, even in small amounts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.petmd.com\/dog\/conditions\/endocrine\/c_dg_xylitol_toxicity\"><strong>Xylitol<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 \u2014 This sneaky sweetener is found in many sugar-free candies and gums. Just a small amount can cause a dangerous drop in blood sugar and potentially lead to liver failure in pets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But don\u2019t worry\u2014your pet doesn\u2019t have to miss out on all the Halloween fun. Pumpkin is a fall favorite that\u2019s not only safe, but also healthy for your furry friends. After carving those jack-o-lanterns, roast some pumpkin seeds, and share them with your pet (in moderation, of course).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might also whip up some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akc.org\/expert-advice\/lifestyle\/pumpkin-recipes-for-dogs\/\">homemade dog biscuits<\/a> using pumpkin as the star ingredient.
